'Legend of Zelda' on Wii U release date announcement coming soon?

Speculations on the upcoming release of "The Legend of Zelda" for the Wii U again surfaced after reports of a supposed promotional video leaked online.

According to Gamer Pros, Nintendo created a promotional video highlighting a new "The Legend of Zelda" title, this time for the Wii U. The video is in preparation for a huge "The Legend of Zelda" announcement in a "big event," according to the website's inside sources.

The report went on to say that people from Gamer Pros themselves watched the supposed leaked promotional video and believe the footage's legitimacy. However, the industry follower declined to publish the video itself as it will infringe on the copyrights of Nintendo and the video's creator, Creative Minds and Souls, LLC.

However, the report described how the video went on, indicating that it seems to segue from an advertisement-type material to the showcase of the game itself. While the inside source was not sure if the game footage was from a new "The Legend of Zelda" title, the industry follower is positive since the footage reportedly carry the "Only on Wii U" tag during the end credits.

Movie Pilot added that it seems the video is designed to entice parents rather than the general gaming public. Meanwhile, the video was also supposed to be only a draft and the creators and developers are currently working to finalize the production.

The industry follower added that targeting parents seems to be the right move for Nintendo since "The Legend of Zelda" franchise is a long-running one – today's parents are the ones who are mostly familiar with the title, since the first "The Legend of Zelda" game was launched during their gaming days.

A Wii U version of "The Legend of Zelda," one of Nintendo's showrunner franchises, has already been rumored ever since the Wii U came out as an open-world RPG title showcasing Wii U's tech specs.
