'The Flash' season 3 spoilers, news: Patty Spivot teased to return

"The Flash" season 3 will be based on the "Flashpoint" storyline from the DC Comics, and while it will be different from its source material, it will feature a few key characters that were presumed to leave the show. One of them is Officer Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten) who teases her possible return.

Speaking at the Heroes and Villains Fan Festival (via Comic Book), the actress was asked if she could return to the show in season 3 given that the "Flashpoint" story will reset the timelines and alter some of the events that take place in the lives of the characters.

"There is a very strong possibility if everything works out," she explained. The actress notably had a wide smile on her face indicating that negotiations are already in the works. It should be noted that the only big obstacles would include VanSanten's schedule and the importance of her character in season 3's plot arc.

According to the report from Comic Book, it should also be noted that if Patty Spivot returns, it may not be the Patty that fans are familiar with, given how the "Flashpoint" event may have altered reality. Although it is possible, her return to the show will take place after the timelines have been restored to their original point.

The original Earth-1 version of Patty from season 2 was a CSI officer-in-training who worked and dated Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), but she eventually broke up with him and left for Midway City when he did not tell her that he was indeed The Flash. An Earth-2 version was teased and mentioned when Barry when to Earth-2, but she was never shown.

An Earth-3 version may now be shown, or the original Earth-1 version could be coming back from Midway City. However, this is only if the character is indeed going to be featured again in "The Flash" season 3.

"The Flash" season 3 is scheduled to premiere this Oct. 4.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
