'The Flash' season 3 spoilers: Eddie Thawne makes an appearance in upcoming season

"The Flash" season 3 is dealing with multiple timelines, realities, and multiple Earths, given that Barry Allen, also known as the Flash (Grant Gustin), keeps on traveling to the past to fix his mistakes. Actor Rick Cosnett, who played Eddie Thawne back in season 1 and who had a guest appearance in season 2, now hints these ripples in timelines might allow Eddie to be back on the show.

Speaking to Comic Book, Cosnett was asked if there was any chance he could be appearing in season 3, to which he replied, "Definitely, definitely. I can't say exactly where, but there is definitely a big chance that I could be in this new timeline, you'll have to wait and see."

Given how Barry's actions had caused major differences in the present timeline, such as Barry having a new co-worker played by Tom Felton, or Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) now having her Killer Frost powers, it would be possible that Eddie Thawne is still alive and that he may never have gotten involved with the season 1 events.

It is also possible that the Eddie who will appear in season 3 is from a different reality, such as Earth-2 or Earth-3. It was previously reported that Earth-3 may be visited soon and that viewers may encounter the Earth-3 versions of the Flash (John Wesley Shipp) and the Trickster (Mark Hamill).

Unfortunately, it is uncertain if Eddie's return is only going to be for one episode, like in season 2, or if he is going to be a permanent returning character, due to changes in reality and time. Screen Rant reports that the studios could just bring back Eddie as a gimmick or in a meaningful manner that has a long-term impact on the characters.

Fans will recall that Eddie is the ancestor of Eobard Thawne, who is also known as Reverse Flash (Matt Letscher). By bringing Eddie back, it is possible that the show is working to bring back Reverse Flash into the main storyline.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
