'The Flash' season 3 spoilers: lid to be lifted on Alchemy's identity in midseason finale

"The Flash" season 3 has focused on the villain Dr. Alchemy, whose identity is still unknown. However, he is not the main villain of the season as that honor goes to the speedster known as Savitar. It has now been confirmed that both Savitar and Alchemy's identities will be shown before or during the season 3 midseason finale.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Greg Berlanti explained that everything was going to be laid out prior to the crossover episode, which was episode 8. This would mean both Alchemy's identity and the villain Savitar would be shown prominently in episode 9, before the show goes on a break until January 2017.

"People will have seen him before the crossovers," Berlanti explained. "He appears in episodes 6 and 7. You'll find out who Alchemy is," he went on to say.

There are rumors suggesting that Alchemy is a different version of Julian Albert (Tom Felton), perhaps from Earth-3 or another dimension entirely. This is because Alchemy is aware of people's powers in previous timelines, and just like Julian, he hunts down meta-humans. He may also suffer from inferiority complex issues.

One theory suggests that Alchemy may even be Barry Allen, also known as the Flash (Grant Gustin), from a different Earth or timeline. This would, again, tie in Alchemy to the "Flashpoint" storyline caused by Barry when he turned back time to save his mother.

Savitar, on the other hand, is a complete mystery in the context of the show and even in the original DC Comics. In the original comic books, Savitar was a Cold War-era pilot who got his speedster powers after his plane was struck by lightning, connecting him to the Speed Force. His name is based on the Hindu god of motion.

However, Savitar's true identity has never been revealed, and in many iterations, he has been portrayed as the fastest of all the speedsters. In 2009, Barry Allen managed to kill Savitar right after the former managed to escape his prison within the Speed Force.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
