'The Blacklist' season 2 premiere spoilers [NBC]: War is coming

"A war is coming," Red said on the trailer of "The Blacklist" Season 2. What war could he be referring to? The title of the first episode airing Monday is "Lord Baltimore." Is Lord Baltimore the person who will start the war with Red?

Back in the season 1 finale, Red surrendered to the FBI with a goal in mind: to get his enemy out in the open. His plan worked as Berlin did reveal himself. However, Berlin was able to escape before the FBI could catch up to him and unravel his real identity.

In Season 2, Berlin will still be Red's main enemy. But of course, the structure of the episodes will be followed — taking down a new name from the blacklist each week. This new season, Lord Baltimore is the name on the blacklist.

In the trailer of the first episode, Berlin hires a bounty hunter to hunt down Red and his team. Lord Baltimore could very well be the bounty hunter that gets hired. Red and the FBI will work together now, and if they can get their hands on Lord Baltimore, they might just get some information about Berlin. But in the trailer, it looks like Lord Baltimore isn't exactly hunting down Red, but someone who is close to Red's heart.

This leads to speculations that Lord Baltimore is actually targeting Liz. This perfectly makes sense because Berlin believes that Red killed his daughter. After all, Red did send Berlin pieces of someone else's body to make Berlin believe this. Now, Berlin wants to do the same thing.

"Mr. Remington, I presume. I'm going to do to her what you did to my daughter. Send her back to you, piece by piece ... by piece," said Berlin to Red over the phone. Does this mean that the war coming is actually Berlin's plan for vengeance?

The official synopsis for "Lord Baltimore" reads: "Red Confronts an important person from his Past. An important person comes back from the past into Red's world. Meanwhile, Liz tries to move forward with her life after her showdown with Tom."

Be sure to tune into NBC for the Season 2 premiere of "The Blacklist." All episodes are available to watch online via live stream on NBC.
