'The Big Bang Theory' season 8 spoilers: Howard and Bernadette attend Mrs. Wolowitz's funeral; is a zombie on the loose?

The next episode of "The Big Bang Theory" will acknowledge the death of its beloved cast member Carol Ann Susi, who plays Mrs. Wolowitz in the long running sitcom. But it looks like Sheldon and the gang will not be in complete attendance in her funeral. According to the synopsis of episode 16 titled "The Intimacy Acceleration," Howard and Bernadette will be the only ones going and the couple will run into some trouble in the airport as they do so.

The episode was not made to center on the passing of the actress although her untimely demise was dealt with in the most loving manner. Carter Matt said that the episode is expected to bring poignant moments mixed into a bit of humor still.

Apart from a subtle farewell to the actress, the next installment of the series will also see Sheldon and Penny team up and play Cupid as they attempt an experiment that will make the participants all smitten and love-struck. The two aim to see for themselves if the test they have heard of really does work.

On the other hand, Leonard, Amy, Raj and Emily will be up to something more outlandish, to say the least. Viewers will get to see all four find their way out of a room where a "zombie" apparently dwells. But is it really an undead flesh-eater that is after them?

"The Big Bang Theory" is also bringing in a slew of guest stars in the commemorative episode. Laura Spencer will return as Emily while Max Adler from "Glee" and "Switched at Birth" joins the fun as the zombie the gang is running away from. Stephanie Escajeda will play as Cindy and Molly Morgan as the hostess.

"The Intimacy Acceleration" was written by Dave Goetsch, Eric Kaplan and Tara Hernandez and is directed by Mark Cendrowski. The episode is scheduled to air on Feb. 26.
