"Supergirl" is set to make its debut next month, and more characters have been added to the CBS show that will thrill fans of the DC Comics which the show is based on.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jenna Dewan Tatum has been cast as Lucy Lane, the younger sister of Lois Lane. The "Witches of East End" actress will have a recurring role on the show and will be featured in several episodes in the series' first season. While Lois is widely known as Superman's love interest, Lucy has her own backstory, and just like her sister, she is described as "strong, smart, and successful in her own right." She also has a history with Jimmy Olsen (Mehcad Brooks).

Executive producer Ali Adler told EW that they hope to explore Lucy's history with Jimmy and that her father, General Sam Lane, will also make an appearance in the show. As for her relationship with Kara Danvers aka Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), Adler said that Lucy and Kara will develop their own friendship.

"She not only plays a romantic foil with whatever Kara and James are brewing, but people will also be surprised that she's really a woman's woman," Adler said about Dewan Tatum's character.

In the DC Comics, Lucy and her father work together on secret projects which results to her getting superpowers, and she eventually becomes Superwoman and she and Supergirl have an epic fight. It is unclear whether the TV show will also explore this part of the character's story.

Meanwhile, Comicbook.com reports that Iddo Goldberg has been cast as Dr. T.O. Morrow/ Red Tornado. In the comics, Morrow and the Red Tornado are separate entities — the former is the inventor of Red, an android. Red becomes a member of the Justice League, while Morrow becomes a supervillain and is an enemy to the Justice League.

"Supergirl" premieres on Monday, Oct. 26, at 8:30 p.m. on CBS.
