'Star Wars Rebels' season 3 spoilers, news: Rebel Alliance fights Grand Admiral Thrawn in new promo

Star Wars Rebels season 3 poster Disney XD

Disney XD has released a brand new trailer for "Star Wars Rebels" season 3, and while it is relatively very short at just 30 seconds, it does contain several new images that suggest what direction the show is going.

As stated in a report from Screen Rant, some of the most intriguing shots shown in the teaser involve the main Force users such as Ezra and Kanan.

The trailer focuses on the growing battle between the Empire and the Rebel Alliance. Hera is shown planning to steal several ships to grow the Rebels' fleet. The voiceover for the trailer then states that their battle has grown in scale compared to the fledgling rebellion it started out as in season 1.

Very prominent in the trailer is Grand Admiral Thrawn. Thrawn points out that, every time the Rebels are in trouble, there is someone out there to help them, indicating he knows they have allies who are still pretending to be a part of the Empire. He is then shown holding Hera captive and tells her that he will tear the Rebel Alliance apart "piece by piece."

Both Kanan and Darth Maul are shown to have glowing green eyes, and during this state, it appears as if Kanan is possessed as he initiates a lightsaber duel against a surprised Ezra. Screen Rant speculates that Darth Maul, in his travels to further study the Force, may have discovered something ancient and dangerous, and this could be what is taking over him and Kanan.

The trailer also gives signals which slightly hints that Ezra is turning to the Dark Side of the Force, and many fans have begun speculating if Ezra will become the official adaptation of Starkiller from the "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" video games, a Jedi apprentice who began a Sith apprentice before the events of "Star Wars: A New Hope."

"Star Wars Rebels" season 3 is slated to premiere on Sept. 24 on Disney XD.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
