Nintendo released three amiibo figurines for "Splatoon" last year and now, reports suggest that there may be more "coming soon."

The report comes from popular tipster NWPlayer123 who took to Twitter to announce that two characters will be featured as amiibo figures — the Squid Sisters. The tipster dug through the game files and found code names that presumably referred to the characters.

Code names "AmiiboIdolA" and "AmiiboIdolB" were spotted and it was readily assumed that it will be Callie and Marie.

"Splatoon" fans will definitely be happy with this news, but so far it is still in the rumor category and has yet to be confirmed. However, Nintendo Everything notes that NWPlayer123 is a reliable source considering the leakster had previously teased details about the game that were correct.

Nintendo has yet to give out an official word about the legitimacy of this news. However, if the game company will indeed release new "Splatoon" amiibo figures, it won't come as a surprise since the Wii U game is one of the most popular titles today.

Meanwhile, the rumored Squid Sisters recently wrapped up their live performance in Japan. Callie and Marie performed on stage as holograms during the Squid Sisters 2016 Live Concert, which is part of the Splatoon Koshien 2016 event held at the Makuhari Messe Convention Center last Saturday, Nintendo News reported.

The sisters' performance was aired on Niconico, Japan's video service, but YouTube user kuroneko0509 was able to watch and provide footage of the concert. The Squid Sisters have gained a strong fanbase; it's only fitting that they'll be the next characters to get an amiibo figure.

As for the game itself, it has been received well that game producer Hisashi Nogami thanked fans at the same event for the love they've shown for the game. According to reports, it appears that Nogami mentioned something about releasing more content for the game in the future. More updates should be released soon.
