Soul in the City Brightens Residents Lives

More than 15,000 young Christians from all over the UK and abroad are currently participating in kids holiday clubs, painting and decorating, garden clearances, organised sports, talent shows and live music events as part of Soul in the City.

Currently 1000’s of volunteers are participating in church projects across London aimed at the local communities.

Jasmine Dorsett, a hostel officer working for Ealing Council, said: "They are giving residents a quality of life that the council just doesn't have the money for. They're bringing to the hostels colour and a homely feel - things other people take for granted."

Over 700 churches from all denominations within the M25 area have added their support to the Soul in the City event. Volunteers will also be given the chance to take part in the many sports sessions across London over the next two weeks, and there will even be such diverse events as youth DJ competitions.
