While most fans have their eyes set on the next Xperia Z series follow-up, it seems Sony Mobile will be expanding their other lineups. The latest rumors suggest that there is also an upcoming Xperia C6 iteration.
According to Android Authority, a high-quality render of what is supposed to be the Xperia C6 is making its rounds online. The design for the body and specs came from noted tipster Evan Blass, who said that the render was constructed based on factory schematics – meaning the render is as close as possible to the final version of the upcoming Xperia C6.
Based on the render, the new Xperia C6 looks almost the same as the current-gen Xperia , reported Phone Arena. This makes the upcoming iteration sport a nearly bezel-less display like its predecessor, as well as rounded edges and a slim profile. While it is not clear whether the Xperia C6 will retain the display dimensions of the previous Xperia C series versions, the report mentioned that Sony Mobile will most likely feature a screen not smaller than 5 inches and will still offer a 1080p resolution.
The industry follower added that based on the images, the Xperia C6 also has at least three color variants.
Meanwhile, the tech specs for the upcoming flagship remain a mystery. However, Uber Gizmo believes that true to its lineup, the Xperia C6 will be a low- to mid-range flagship offering at best. This means that the new iteration might carry a MediaTek Helio P1- chipset, with at least 2-GB or maybe even 3-GB RAM to go with it.
As for when fans can expect the Xperia C6, the industry follower said that Sony Mobile has confirmed its attendance at the Mobile World Congress later this month. While the company is not advertising its lineup for the upcoming events, the Xperia C6 might be one of the products launching at the MWC.
