Sentamu celebrates fourth anniversary as Archbishop of York

The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu celebrated the fourth anniversary of his enthronement on Monday by saying the Litany in St Cuthbert’s Chapel at York Minster.

Dr Sentamu said: “I have had a memorable 4 years serving the people in this Diocese and would like to thank the people of Yorkshire for their support over this time. I look forward to continuing my work here as there is still so much to do."

He encouraged people to join him in saying the Litany from the Common Worship and the Prayer of General Thanksgiving from the Book of Common Prayer as part of their daily prayers during Advent.

“My prayer times will be morning, midday and evening. Please pray with me," he said. "I wish everyone a blessed and prayerful Advent.”
