Will Nick Fury stop appearing in future Marvel Movies?

The veteran actor who has played the Marvel character Nick Fury has revealed one of the most shocking revelations of 2015. It appears that the actor has two more movies left in his contract before it expires. When discussing with IGN about the actor's future as playing the Marvel character, Samuel L. Jackson responded:

"Yeah, I've only got two more movies in my contract. [Laughs] That might be the end of it, unless I get an extension."

Jackson first appeared as S.H.I.E.L.D Director Nick Fury during the end credits of the first Iron Man movie. It has also been rumored that there was going to be a solo Nick Fury spin-off movie, but it appears that the character will not be able to survive long enough in the Marvel movie universe to see that film come to fruition. However, if the spin-off movie does get managed to be made, it will most likely display a Nick Fury in his youth rather than portraying the older version.

Previously, it was assumed by fans that the spy had been killed in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," but as the film progressess, it is shown that the character faked his death in order to get to the bottom of who was culpable for the security breach back at S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters. While fans were given an adrenaline rush in the form of shock after they witnessed his orchestrated death, it is highly likely that fans will have to prepare themselves for the worst case scenario concerning Samuel L. Jackson's return to the Marvel universe after the two upcoming films.

However, it is also possible that his contract gets renewed, prompting him to continue playing the character, although no one at Marvel Studios has confirmed this information. Samuel L. Jackson will be appearing in Joss Whedon's summer blockbuster film, "Avengers: Age of Ultron" as well as "Captain America: Civil War."
