Samsung has officially released a couple of new tablets in the market with the announcement of the much awaited Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.
The latest Samsung tablet will come in two sizes, somehow iterated in dimensions as far as size is concerned. Compared to the previous model which released 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch variants, the Galaxy Tab S2 shrank a little with an 8-inch and 9.7-inch options.
Aside from that, the GalaxyTab S2 is notably thinner at 5.6mm, possibly the thinnest available in the market right now. The previous thinnest tablet one could find in the market was the Dell Venue 8, which measured 6mm.
With the thin make, the Galaxy Tab S2 stands to be the lightest tablet one can get in the market. The 8-inch variant weighs just 265 grams while the 9.7-inch one is at 389 grams.
Aside from those singled out features, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is pretty much the same as far as other features are concerned.
Both tablet variants will come with Super AMOLED displays (20148 x 1536 pixels), powered by Samsung's Exynos 5433 system, backed with 3GB of RAM, a choice between 32GB or 64GB of storage that is expandable up to 128GB through microSD, a fingerprint sensor, an 8-megapixel main camera, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 4,000 mAh battery.
Both devices will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop with TouchWiz on board.
Each variant will have a Long-Term Evolution (LTE) and WiFi version available.
According to SamMobile, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will offer the 8-inch WiFi version for €399 and the LTE version for €469.
On the other hand, the 9.7-inch version will be priced at €499 for the WiFi version and €569 for the LTE version.
The tablets will be available in black and white colors and are expected to hit the global market starting August.
