While Samsung still has to provide concrete details on its next flagship offering, speculations have already floated online about the much-expected Galaxy S7 iteration. Recent supposed leaks suggest that in terms of design, Samsung has not deviated much from the signature Galaxy S series form factor.
According to GSM Arena, the alleged leak came from case manufacturer DHGate. Reportedly, DHGate has already released online ads for its Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Plus cases.
The industry follower stated that the ads show the cases wrapped around some Galaxy S7 and S7 Plus dummies, and these images seem to be the replicas of what the Galaxy S7 lineup will look like based on previous speculations and renders.
If the Galaxy S7 lineup does come out looking like the dummies, Forbes said that Samsung has decided to stick to a tried-and-tested Galaxy S design, instead of offering an upgrade and improvement on the upcoming flagship's form factor and build.
Indeed, the Galaxy S7 shown in the ad looks a lot like the Galaxy S6. If the design and form factor is the same signature ones, then the Galaxy S7 will launch with strengthened glass on the front and back and a slim metal chassis on the sides. In addition, it was also gleaned from the ads that Samsung has stuck with having microUSB connectivity for the Galaxy S7 instead of the rumoured USB Type-C.
While Samsung still has to confirm if the design for the Galaxy S7 has remained unchanged from the previous iteration, the industry follower highlighted the fact that some supply companies like DHGate normally get advanced notifications on design and build specs of upcoming devices, so they can tailor their assembly tools to match the devices' specs. This means that DHGate might have advanced details about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 lineup and churned out the cases to exactly match the new flagship's design and build.
