Samsung does have its work cut out for them, especially with the not-so-convincing sales of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. So would an early appearance by its successor, the Samsung Galaxy S7, cover up the disappointing performance?
A news report from Korea suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S7 could be out earlier than expected, thanks to their new "Agile" methodology. This new process appends the previous one called "Waterfall" and could allegedly ramp up development by one to two months.
Samsung normally reveals its new handsets during February, but with the rumored shift to a new methodology, all that could change.
The new methodology involves creating a project which in turn is split into modules that should help fast-track the production process. Each project gets tested and evaluated once a module is done; but the neat thing about it is that should there be a need for changes, such can be done midway.
With the flexibility of the said methodology, Samsung could very well have the Samsung Galaxy S7 up and about in record time and possibly as early as December.
If Samsung has indeed shifted to the new methodology, such could work to their benefit. Seeing that the Korean-based company is eager to try and find a way to keep themselves abreast with rival company Apple, a bump in production and release date could work to their advantage.
As for the Galaxy S7 proper, little is known about what the next Samsung device will carry.
According to Tech Times, Samsung is reportedly testing two variants of the upcoming Galaxy S7. One runs on a Snapdragon chipset while the other on Exynos. For now, it is still unknown which chipset Samsung will go for as far as the Samsung Galaxy S7 is concerned.
For now, it would be best to consider this shift to a new technology as rumors and also see if any hints of the next Samsung Galaxy S7 will be leaked in the coming months.
But should it come out by December, it does seem like a sensible release date and something many folks can easily afford.
