It is already expected that Samsung will follow-up its lineups with their 2017 editions. One of the first lineups said to receive follow-up releases is the Galaxy A series as the 2017 editions of the lineup like the Galaxy A3 have already been seen online.
According to Phone Arena, the Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) has made an appearance on the popular benchmarking site Geekbench again. This leads to rumors that the iteration — and the rest of the 2017 editions of the series — is bound to come out soon.
In terms of specs, the benchmark site lists the 2017 Galaxy A3 as having an Exynos 7870 under the hood. This is expected to give the upcoming iteration above-average performance, even if the lineup is considered as mid-ranger. The Exynos 7870 is one of Samsung's previous-generation flagship chipsets.
Meanwhile, the octa-core processor is paired with 2 GB of RAM, and the device will have 8 GB of internal storage. Other specs for the 2017 Samsung Galaxy A3 include a 4.7-inch display with HD resolution, a 12-MP main camera and 8 MP selfie shooter, and the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 right out of the box. It is also expected that the upcoming handset will get expandable storage for up to 128 GB via microSD, similar to the 2016 Galaxy A3.
Aside from the Galaxy A3, the rest of the series are also confirmed to be coming out with their 2017 counterparts. The 2017 editions of the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 are already in the pipeline, according to an exclusive report by SamMobile. It is expected that the two upcoming iterations will run on an Exynos 7880 processor paired with at least 3 GB of RAM, making them the step-up versions of the Galaxy A3 (2017). The new Galaxy A7 will feature a 5.5-inch full HD display, while the Galaxy A5 will have a 5.2-inch screen.
