Duck Dynasty's teenage star Sadie Robertson is promoting her aunt and uncle's book called A New Season: A Robertson Family Love Story of Brokenness and Redemption, which talks about the couple's troubled past, rocky start to marriage, and how they overcame adversities by turning over their lives completely to God.
On her Instagram account (@legitsadierob), Sadie shared a photo of herself carrying the book A New Season sandwiched between her Uncle Al and Aunt Lisa and stressed that: "EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS BOOK. It's an absolutely amazing read about my beautiful aunt & uncle & everything that they have overcome in life with the grace of God. I am so proud of them."
The beardless Robertson brother Al and his wife Lisa bravely confronted the mistakes they made in the past in their book, including Al's drinking and drug problem, as well as his affair with a married woman. His wife also had a troubled past, aborting a baby during her teenage years and having her own affair while her marriage with Al was turning sour.
Al told Us Weekly that dealing with Lisa's affair was "one of the most difficult things our family has ever gone through." In fact, a lot of the Robertson family members told him to leave Lisa because of it. But when the couple decided to forgive each other and make their marriage work, that was when they came out stronger and closer than ever.
"What I will say is that once I made the decision that I was in a place where I could forgive Lisa and I wanted our marriage to work, they got on board behind me," he said. "It took a little while for each of them in their individual way to work through their issues with Lisa, but they did. And now we're very close and they're very close to her."
