Christian producer Roma Downey, well-known for her role as the angel Monica in "Touched By An Angel," will be given a star in the category of Television on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and it will be placed right next to the star of her husband Mark Burnett.

Burnett will help unveil Downey's star alongside Hollywood Chamber President and CEO Leron Gubler, Della Reese, and Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church on Thursday, Aug. 11, according to the Gospel Herald.

"We are thrilled to honour Roma Downey. She has been a force in the business of entertainment, both as an actress and talented producer," says Gubler.

Meanwhile, Downey writes on her Facebook page that she is honoured to be a part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. "Life sure is full of delicious surprises and blessings," she says.

Downey is currently the President of LightWorkers Media, the faith and family division of MGM, as well as the Chief Content Officer for MGM's planned OTT initiative.

She catapulted to fame after appearing in nine seasons of the CBS show "Touched By An Angel." She has since then moved on to producing faith-based films and movies such as "The Bible," "A.D. The Bible Continues," "Dovekeepers," and most recently, "Ben-Hur."

Because of her work as a producer, she was named as one of Variety's "100 Most Powerful Women in Hollywood," while she and her husband made it to the Hollywood Reporter's list of the "Most Influential People of 2013."

Downey and her husband make it a point to promote God in all of their works. Their latest film "Ben-Hur" is all about God's unconditional love and the power of forgiveness.

"It's been the most riveting opportunity of our careers," Downey says of their work on the film. "It's a feast, a beautiful re-imagining of this epic story. I think that the movie in many ways is a Trojan horse, because it's an action/adventure movie and it delivers on that, and viewers won't be disappointed with that. It's epic. But...it's a story of redemption, a story of reconciliation, a story about forgiveness."
