Last week's episode of "Riverdale" season 2 could have been perfect as the fans witnessed the surprising reunion of Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse), but the night ended with Betty finding herself in the middle of a murder scene. Episode 13, titled "Chapter Twenty-Six: The Tell-Tale Heart," will reveal how Betty will handle the shocking truth that her own family is responsible for the latest death in Riverdale.
"Riverdale" season 2 episode 13 will begin in the Cooper's residence, as Betty is trying to figure out what has transpired in their house that made her mother Alice (Madchen Amick) scrub the trail of blood next to a lifeless body on the floor. But it will be too late for Betty to learn everything she needs to know, and there are no other choices left for her but to help the family in covering up the murder scene, per Express UK.
At this point, it is speculated that the death of the mysterious man who visited the Coopers that night had something to do with Betty's estranged brother, Chic (Hart Denton), who is looking very much troubled in a dark corner of their house. It appears that Chic might have some business dealings with that man but in some way, the two might have ended up with a violent commotion that got one of them killed.
The promo teaser for "Riverdale" season 2 episode 13 shows Betty helping Alice transfer the dead body from their house into a sewer tunnel. Whether it was Chic or anyone else in the household who is responsible for the murder, the fact that Betty lent a helping hand in cleaning up the murder scene would make the her an accessory to the crime.
Knowing Betty's personality, she would not want to be part of any crime, but this time is different as it already involves her own family. Of course, it is not a secret that the character is hiding a bold and mean alter-ego that might be willing to take part in the cover-up.
"Riverdale" season 13 episode 13 will air this Wednesday, Feb. 7, at 8 p.m. EST on the CW.
