Resources for Disney's The Odd Life of Timothy Green

Damaris Trust has created free resources for Disney's forthcoming release, The Odd Life of Timothy Green.

The film, out on 5 April, tells the story of a happily married couple who long to start a family but find they are unable to. Just when they decide to move on from their dream, a young boy named Timothy turns up unexpectedly at their home.

The resources from Damaris are suitable for Easter talks and sermons. The theme of adoption and fostering also ties in with the Evangelical Alliance's new Home for Good campaign encouraging churches to be more intentional about support for foster and adoptive families.

Nick Pollard, co-founder of Damaris, said: "Disney's The Odd Life of Timothy Green is a wonderful story for the whole family. It gently raises questions about families, fostering and adoption. And it is particularly relevant at this time since it provides some interesting parallels with the Easter story.

"In the film we see people burying their hopes and dreams; and then, in the morning, waking to find an unexpected and miraculous gift of new life."

The resources include the movie trailer and short clips from the film to use as illustrations for a talk, sermon or assembly. There are thought-provoking questions and discussion guides to help get the conversation started, and an article by Krish Kandiah, director of Home for Good, offers biblical reflections.

The free resources are available for download from www.damaris.org/timothygreen
