Rockstar Games confirmed last year that the much-awaited "Red Dead Redemption" sequel was in the works. The game studio promised that their next Western first-person shooter game would arrive in fall 2017, only to announce later on that the launch has been postponed indefinitely. Since then, details regarding "Red Dead Redemption 2" have been scarce, but thanks to the fans' efforts, the public now has some idea on what the game will look like.

According to the latest reports, the "Red Dead Redemption 2" gameplay might follow a gang mechanic. Also, the sequel is rumored to introduce a building system for the first time in the series, something that is similar to the gameplay setup of Bethesda's "Fallout 4." These details were leaked recently by a NeoGAF user, who retrieved an old rumor from the GTA forum.

Segment Next reported that the original source of the "Red Dead Redemption 2" leak was a GTA forum member known as "reddeadinsider." He posted the information almost a year ago, although no one took the info seriously that led him to delete his account. However, based on the official trailer released by Rockstar Games for the sequel, it turns that the details he posted might be true after all.

According to the leaks, "Red Dead Redemption 2" will feature a gang mechanic in which players will play the gang's leader, Arthur. The players will have a posse that they need to improve by recruiting more members. Many characters can be recruited into the gang, including Abigail, Little Jack, and the game series' popular hero, John Marston. The posse can also be used to accomplish different missions, although the gang leader should be wary of a "pinkerton spy" that will try to bring the gang down.

As for the building system in "Red Dead Redemption 2," the leaks suggested that the game will follow a similar setup in "Fallout 4" wherein players can create their own ranch. There will be several quests given as the ranch continues to grow. However, it was suggested that Rockstar Games has been struggling to develop this part of the game.

For now, there are no confirmed reports from the game studio regarding the ongoing development of "Red Dead Redemption 2." Rockstar Games did not specify an exact release date for the sequel, although it is likely that the game will be out early 2018.
