'Rainbow Six Siege' patch 2.3 console edition release delayed

 Ubisoft

The newest patch for the console versions of "Rainbow Six Siege" was supposed to drop this week, but Ubisoft announced that the update will have to be postponed because of an "unexpected bug."

The game developer reportedly discovered a bug that affects the queue time and match quality for ranked matches when update 2.3 was released for the PC on March 30. But while Ubisoft managed to come up with a temporary fix for the bug, they decided that more improvements must be made to completely resolve the issue.

"While we have seen improvements on queue time after this update, it is not up to our standards," Ubisoft stated. "We are still working on the issue and we will communicate any updates on our progress. Due to these findings from patch 2.3 on PC, we will be temporarily delaying 2.3 on console in order to resolve this issue before deployment."

The game studio also mentioned that they were planning to conduct a scheduled maintenance on Wednesday, April 6. The maintenance for the PlayStation 4 version of the game is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Eastern Time, while those who use the Xbox 1 version will have the maintenance from 10 a.m. 11 a.m. Eastern Time.

Some of the tweaks and improvements from the patch 2.3 update include the fixed inaccurate amount of remaining health, which was displayed for the victorious Operator when a defeated player was watching the KilCam replay, and the disappearance of the parts of Glaz's scope while entering the ADS mode.

It also comes with Ranked Matchmaking Improvements that will only begin if 10 players are already gathered in the lobby. The patch will also fix the multiple reconnection bugs that players experienced before the update.

The rest of the improvements and additions for the upcoming update can be seen in the patch notes posted on Ubisoft's official forum page.
