The new augmented reality game "Pokémon GO" has been an instant hit and fans now eagerly wait for its wearable accessory. However, players will need to wait a bit longer, since it is confirmed that the upcoming "Pokémon GO" Plus will roll out in September.

Nintendo has already confirmed that it will be delaying the release of the accessory wearable for "Pokémon GO." Originally, the "Pokémon GO" Plus was scheduled to roll out before July ends. However, the publisher has revealed that the wearable will now be released in September.

Reportedly, the publisher underestimated the impact that "Pokémon GO" will have on fans and that they were conservative in estimating when to release the game accessory. Speaking to TechRadar, a Nintendo spokesperson said that the delay is in the development of the wearable app. It seems that the accessory itself is already up for release, and Nintendo and developer Niantic only have to fine-tune the app update to sync both the game and the wearable in order for the two to communicate seamlessly.

Nintendo stated, "In order for us to offer new experiences to play Pokémon Go with Pokémon Go Plus with a quality level high enough to satisfy as many people as possible, we decided that it is necessary to take enough time for the completion."

Although the "Pokémon GO" Plus wearable is not a requirement accessory in order to play the game, having it is a helpful tool, particularly for hardcore players. The wearable vibrates when a Pokémon is close by, so players do not need to check their phones periodically when trying to play "Pokémon GO." Meanwhile, although the release date has been set back, pre-orders are still up for the wearable, with the "Pokémon GO" Plus having a $35 price tag.
