'Pokémon GO' news: next update to introduce daily bonus system

"Pokémon GO" has seen a fluctuation in the number of active players, but it is still one of the most successful mobile video games in recent years. Gamers now have another incentive to keep playing and to play well with the upcoming launch of daily bonuses.

As posted on the official website, "Pokémon GO" is going to receive daily bonuses, and these rewards are given for even the most minor of achievements. Simply catching a Pokémon or stopping by a PokéStop at least once a day will grant a daily bonus.

Catching a Pokémon once a day will give the player an additional 500 XP and 600 Stardust. Catching that same Pokemon every day for 7 days will grant a much bigger reward, giving the player 2,000 XP and 2,400 Stardust. When a player visits a PokéStop, spinning the disc will grant 500 XP and a large number of booster items.

It is noted that the daily bonuses will always reset by 12 a.m. each day. This means a player that takes their rewards in by late evening on Tuesday will be able to get the reward from the same spot just hours later when midnight strikes.

Fans have speculated that this kind of system would be implemented soon as it would entice players to keep playing every day. There has been a drop in the number of players from the time the game launched but the additional bonuses are speculated to help the game regain players that have left.

By playing every day, a report from Polygon points out that gamers are advised now to check in their game at least once a day. This will also prevent players from attempting to use cheats and hacking tools to gain unfair advantages since they can now get the same rewards simply by logging in once a day.

Niantic Labs has yet to announce when these daily bonuses would be implemented or when the next update would be launched.
