Playstation Plus, a monthly subscription which allows paid members to download free games every month, has been updated for the month of October. The games for September have now been replaced by the free game offerings for October, which includes the HD remaster of the classic "Resident Evil" game.

As shown on the official PlayStation blog, PS Plus members will be able to download "Resident Evil HD." This is based on the HD remake for the GameCube, but it has been further enhanced for 1080p screens. Bugs and glitches have been further fixed, and there are now options to use a more modern control scheme or to use the traditional tank controls from the PlayStation One original.

The other PS4 game offered to PS Plus subscribers is "Transformers: Devastation," an action game set in the "Transformers" universe, particularly the G1 canon of the original cartoon and the IDW comic books. The game, developed by Platinum Games, is fast-paced and combo-focused.

PS3 users, on the other hand, can download "Mad Riders," a spiritual successor of sorts to the classic off-road racing game "Nail'd." The game doesn't just focus on racing, however, as players are also rated by their stunts and capabilities to take down their opponents.

"From Dust" is another PS3 game being offered. While the game sports gorgeous graphics it plays more like a modern version of "Populous," wherein the player must manipulate the terrain and aid their worshippers to achieve certain goals.

PS Vita players will get the visual novel "Code: Realize - Guardian of Birth" and "Actual Sunlight," another visual novel that blends its genre with traditional point-and-click adventure games and retro-style pixel graphics.

Previous games offered for September included "Lords of the Fallen," "Journey," "Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands," "Amnesia: Memories," "Datura," and "Badland."

Polygon has also noted that the subscription fee for Playstation Plus has been raised for the first time in years, and monthly fees can now go up to $59.
