CBS' "Person of Interest" season 5 was speculated to be the last season of the series after show executive producer J.J. Abrams talked about its fate at the Television Critics Association (TCA) on Jan. 9.

However, CBS entertainment chief, Glenn Geller, revealed at the TCA press tour last week that the network ordered another 13 episodes of the science fiction crime drama series, adding that hopefully they'll arrive by spring this year.

Geller also teased that showrunners Johan Nolan and Greg Plageman have come up with some "terrific" storylines for the upcoming season. "Can't wait for the fans of the show to see it. It'll be a real treat for viewers," Geller told reporters.

The chief also addressed rumors about season 5 being the last of "Person of Interest." He revealed that he isn't sure since season 5 has not even aired yet.

Now that a tentative release date for season 5 has been confirmed, fans are wondering what's next for the characters in the series.

According to IGN, season 5 will feature Harold Finch's (Michael Emerson) ex, Grace. Carrie Preston will return to the show to reprise the role and the actress revealed that she will make an appearance in multiple episodes. Aside from the season premiere, fans will see Preston's Grace near the end of the season.

Apart from Preston, Sarah Shahi will also make a comeback, as teased by Geller. He also mentioned that the government assassin's appearance is one of the things to look forward to in season 5.

"You can look forward to it with great gusto. She's amazing. I think Jonah and Greg would kill me if I said anything other than it's fantastic," Geller said.

Fans last saw "Person of Interest" back in season 4, which concluded in May last year. An exact premiere date for the brand new season has yet to be officially announced.
