Pastor claims Katy Perry is singing about having a relationship with the devil in song 'E.T.'

Baptist Pastor Charles Lawson from Knoxville, Tennessee claims that pop star Katy Perry is singing abut having a relationship with the devil in her song "E.T.", which is taken off her album Teenage Dream.

During a Sunday sermon at the Temple Baptist Church, Lawson shared some of the lyrics from Perry's hit song and slammed it as a worship song to Satan.

"You hear the lyrics of 'E.T.' that Katy Perry sang? Some of you kids have probably heard these lyrics. Here we go; I'm not gonna read all of them because some of them are very embarrassing, but she talks in her lyrics about having a physical relationship with the devil," he said.

"'You're so hypnotizing, could you be the devil? Could you be an angel? Futuristic lover, different DNA, they don't understand you. You're from a whole 'nother world, a different dimension, you open my eyes. And I'm ready to go, lead me into the light.' The light? Is not the Lord Jesus Christ the light?" he added.

Lawson said that it's evident why many kids today reject Jesus and the Gospel of Christ, and it's because they have already been influenced by the songs of Perry and her pop peers.

And it's not just now. Even before, when the Beatles' fame was at an all time high, Lawson said that the band had been using their music to taint the minds of youth.

Lawson said that their songs such as "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" and "Yellow Submarine" were satanic because they infected the minds of people. "They want to destroy them. They are wicked and vile creatures. They want to prepare a generation that will embrace the antichrist no questions asked," he claimed.

He believes that people would be better off giving musicians like Perry, Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Miley Cyrus a miss.

"If you never see any of these women again you'd be better off because they are exercising a horrible influence over young people today," he concluded.
