The premiere of the second season of "Outlander" is approaching, and fans are eager to know more updates about the Starz series.

Fortunately, "Outlander" writer and co-executive producer, Matthew B. Roberts, has been actively updating on Twitter about the status of the series' production.

According to his tweet last week, the team has been busy filming the last two episodes of season 2. He also shared a photo of what appears to be the script for those episodes. He also mentioned that it was the only decent photo he could share, but stated that fans should anticipate more photos to be released soon.

As for updates on the role of Brianna, the production has kept silent about who gets to play the fan-favorite role. It also remains to be seen if the series has already tapped an actress to take on the part.

But based on an earlier tweet from Roberts, Brianna might just have already joined the team. On Jan. 16, Roberts wrote, "Last read-thru of @Outlander_Starz #outlander S2 Some familiar faces, some new ones. Some laughter, some tears. Mostly tears #Bittersweet."

It's easy to catch that the executive producer wrote the word "new," and with that said, speculations are rife that Brianna may have already filmed some scenes.

Brianna rumors have been going on for months now and several actresses were reported to have been chosen to play the part, including Maeve Foley. However, the production was quick to dismiss the rumors. Executive producer Maril Davis announced that official casting updates should only come from Twitter accounts @Outlander_Starz and @Sony, as previously reported.

Will a casting announcement for Brianna ever happen in the near future? It's up to the production team and they will keep it a secret and a surprise if they have to. In the meantime, fans will just have to keep playing the waiting game. Who knows? Maybe when the premiere date for "Outlander" season 2 — which is sometime in March or April — nears, fans will finally know.
