Oscar nominations 2015: Birdman and The Grand Budapest Hotel top the list

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the nominations for the 87th Academy Awards this afternoon. Following this weekend's Golden Globes there weren't too many surprises, except for the absence of the Lego Movie among the nominees for Best Animated Feature. David Oyelowo was also missed out on a nomination for best actor for playing Martin Luther King Jr in "Selma".

"Birdman" and "The Grand Budapest Hotel" came top of the list with nine nominations each. British films "The Imitation Game" and "The Theory of Everything" are also among the most nominated of the year. Winners will announced at the Award Ceremony in Los Angeles on February 22.
