OnePlus, the Chinese startup company that unveiled the 'Nexus Killer' smartphone OnePlus One, is attempting to replicate its success with the launch of OnePlus Two. According to Kitguru, the exact release date of the device in currently in the dark, but consumers should be looking out for Q3, 2015. As for innovative features that will be incorporated into the flagship smartphone, the website states that OnePlus Two is expected to feature a biometric fingerprint scanner.

While the exact security features that will be embedded into the handset are currently unknown, it is expected that the military grader fingerprint scanner is going to rival Apple's Touch ID interface. Additionally, there will be several other hardware improvements present that will separate OnePlus Two from its predecessor. Most notably will be the resolution upgrade, which will increase from 1920 by 1080 pixels to 2048 by 1536 pixels. Furthermore, OnePlus Two is also expected to carry a Snapdragon 810, which is far superior in performance compared to OnePlus One's Snapdragon 801.

However, it should be noted that the quad-core ARM Cortex-A57 CPU consumes up to 256 percent more power compared to Cortex-A53, which will deplete battery life at a much quicker pace. In order for OnePlus Two to deliver outstanding battery backup time, the company will be looking to pack in something larger than 3,100 mAh. The upcoming handset is also expected to carry 4 GB of RAM and a microSD slot, which was a feature that the company omitted from the 'Nexus Killer' and instead shipped out the following capacity variants:

  • 16 GB: $299
  • 64 GB: $349

OnePlus will be looking to maintain the same price tag on OnePlus Two as it did with OnePlus One in order to gain the upper hand in a very competitive market. As stated earlier, consumers who are eagerly waiting for the upcoming smartphone should be paying close attention to the period Q3, 2015.
