'One-Punch Man' season 2 release date in September or October; Genos to betray Saitama?

It has been a year since "One-Punch Man" season 1 was released in Japan and fans have been waiting for the second season to officially launch. According to a report from iTech Post, fans may not have to wait much longer as season 2 may release during this month of September or in October.

According to the report, the anime may have been in development over the past year and an official announcement will be made once the English-dub of the first season airs its finale in the US. Once it does the networks may announce the release date for season 2 as well as showcase a teaser trailer or short clip.

Game N Guide does point out that many fans are worried that season 2 may have been silently cancelled or intentionally delayed by the series creator since no further announcements have been made in the past half-year. However, the last official word was that season 2 was moving forward and the news of cancellation is pure speculation.

The reports also point out that while Saitama is heavily rumored to fight Lord Boros again in season 2, as well as new enemies like Garou and Amai Mask, it is also possible he will be fighting his own ally Genos. According to the report it is possible Genos betrays Saitama and sides momentarily with Saitama's enemies.

It is possible that Genos is merely exploring his own options of becoming a known superhero or as a super villain, but it is also possible he is only going to pretend to be an enemy in an effort to spy on them and then later help Saitama when the latter calls on him during battle.

Series creator Yusuke Murata has yet to confirm or deny of the plot rumors and the alleged release date or possible cancellation of "One-Punch Man" season 2.
