'One Punch Man' season 2 release date, spoilers: new season rumored to air in October

One Punch Man Viz Media, Madhouse

"One Punch Man" season 1 has become one of the most popular anime series in recent years and the English-dubbed version of the series is currently airing on Toonami. Although no release date for season 2 has yet been announced, a report from Ecumenical News points out it may be premiering as early as this October.

According to the report, the original creator Yusuke Murata has confirmed he is working on season 2 and has been collaborating with the rest of the studio to get storyboards and notes done so that the show can air as soon as possible. Murata is also working on the manga source material and is reportedly working on a separate anime series.

The report continues to explain that the delay for season 2 is likely due to all these factors coming together as Murata needs to split his time and attention on the three projects simultaneously. However, it is stated that Murata and his team have been working on season ever since season 1 began to air in Japan.

It is further stated in a report from Yibada that if these rumors are true then there is a possibility of Toonami announcing season 2 by September, right when the English-dubbed season 1 ends. This would mean season 2 could premiere in October or November. Other fans speculate season 2 won't be coming out until early 2017.

"One Punch Man" season 2 is rumored to pick up where season 1 left off, hinting that Saitama and Lord Boros may be fighting again in a rematch before the show moves on to other villains like Garou and Amai Mask as well as moving forward in adapting storylines straight from the manga source material.

The studios and Murata have yet to make any formal announcement regarding season 2's release and plot details and the information should still be taken as pure speculation.
