Nissan Rogue Warrior: Nissan unveils Rogue prototype designed for harsh winters

Nissan recently unveiled its new truck that has a commanding presence, the Titan Warrior, at the 2016 North American International Auto Show held in Detroit last Tuesday. But it appears that's not the only warrior truck coming from the auto maker.

Unveiled on Thursday and currently exhibited at the 2016 Montreal International Auto Show is the new prototype, Rogue Warrior, the company's crossover SUV designed to tread the thickest snow with ease.

The Rogue Warrior comes with durable snow tracks measuring at 48 inches in length and 30 inches in height. For each track, the width is 15 inches.

The Rogue Warrior design is based on Canada's best-selling truck, the Rogue, but was customized by Quebec's Motorsports in Action (MIA). The Rogue Warrior stands out uniquely as it carries the Dominator track system by American Track Truck, making it appear like a tank.

"When the all-wheel drive system on the Rogue and Nissan's advanced Xtronic transmission are matched with snow tracks, it results in something spectacular — a Rogue capable of overcoming severe, off-road winter conditions," Steve Rhind, Nissan Canada's director of marketing, said in a statement.

Apart from the snow tracks, Nissan made adjustments to the suspension; performed body tuning to accommodate the tracks; and applied customized snow guards. Rogue's Xtronic transmission and AWD drivetrain remain the same.

The Rogue Warrior is ideal for any road conditions, but was designed especially for the harshest winter conditions. It can still reach a speed of up to 100 kilometers per hour, equivalent to 62 miles per hour, with the ability to traverse a 45-degree grade covered in snow.

Along with the unveiling of the Rogue Warrior is a video featuring how powerful the truck is. In the video, the truck is seen driven by its official driver, 2015 Micra Cup champion Olivier Bédard, taking skiiers up the slope.

The prototype truck is mainly designed to put the spotlight on Rogue and the company's "Conquer All Conditions" lineup, which includes Murano, Pathfinder, and Juke.
