New Youth Directory Online Resource Launched

A new online resource has been created for youth workers in the UK entitled ‘The Youthwork Directory’. It looks to offer a free and extensive listing of organisations, ministries and events for those involved with youth work.

|TOP|The new directory has been created by Youthwork the Partnership, and is being hosted on the Youthwork website. The wide-ranging directory provides youth workers with details of training courses, hostels, support services as well as festivals taking place across the UK.

Youthwork’s Web Editor, Celia Hyland told, “Our aim is to offer a free and comprehensive resource to anyone working to support young people. At the same time ministries and organisations will be able to reach youth workers in their local area.”

Hyland added, “We hope the directory will become an essential tool for youth workers searching for support, encouragement and ideas. We're already hearing the success stories of organisations listed in the directory pairing up with youth workers.”

The directory will feature organisations and youth groups for free, and will also offer a more detailed listing for a small fee.

Premier Radio testify, “the initiative has received a great deal of positive feedback from youth groups that do not have their own websites or a budget for advertising.”

The director of The Salvation Army’s ALOVE, Russell Rook stated, “In youth work great information provides the power to affect change. Our hope is that Youthwork the directory will provide youth workers with the information, contacts and opportunities they need to make their ministry count.”
