New Way Opens Through a Tibetan Buddhist in Northern India

The Gospel For Asia (GFA) ministry has greatly expanded its mission in geographical and spiritual terms as it opened a new Bible school in Northern India. A student called Pladen who is a Tibetan pioneered a new door of evangelizing the Tibetan Buddhist.

The story of Pladen has begun when he entered a Chinese university in Tibet. A Chinese Christian named Wang preached to him about Jesus Christ. Though Pladen did not accept at the beginning, he has not given up and continued to testify Him based on the Bible. Until one day, Pladen realized that Jesus is the only God and only way to salvation despite of his strong foundation in Buddhism belief.

Afterwards, Platen’s life was threatened because of the persecution from his family. With a burning heart to preach the gospel to his fellow Tibetans, he was forced to escape to India. On the way, a person came and directed him to GFA Bible School where he can learn to evangelize.

Buddhism is deeply rooted in India, especially in Northern India where the “enlightened one? Buddha was born. Around the late eighth century, a mixed culture of Buddhism belief and Yoga arrived in Tibet from India, deriving to Tibetan Buddhism. Tibetan Buddhism is regarded as the final frontier in modern missions. As its root is shaken, a tremendous cultural change is expected.

GFA Bible School in Northern India is specifically designed to train native missionaries to reach India’s Tibetan Buddhist population. Pladen, now is one of the eleven people who answered God’s calling.

Other GFA mission for Tibetan Buddhism included hosting radio broadcasts in Lhasa and Amdo, publishing a Christian music album in traditional Tibetan style and printing colorful evangelizing booklet.
