New resource for Remembrance Day

Christian Vision for Men and HOPE have come together to produce a new resource for churches marking Remembrance Day.

Many churches hold special services on Remembrance Sunday to pray and reflect on the sacrifice of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

HOPE and CVM have produced the "Defenders" resource to help churches reach out to friends and neighbours.

The free pack features interviews with Christian soldiers and their relatives, and a short Gospel message from CVM leader Carl Beech.

There are also meeting plans for Sunday School, youth work and adult meetings.

Roy Crowne, Executive Director of HOPE said: "I strongly endorse this resource which provides stories of peoples’ lives that will have an impact.”

The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu said: "Fantastic testimonies and a profound gospel message looking at the essential truths of self-sacrifice, honour and what it means to follow Jesus in the most trying of circumstances."
