New church resource draws on Hollywood fairytales

Damaris Trust has put together a new resource using the big screen adaptations of classic fairytales to explore good and evil.

The latest Viewfinder resource features clips from Snow White and the Huntsman, starring Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron.

Churches can use the resource to discuss the battle between good and evil and how this relates to modern life.

Tony Watkins, who wrote the resource, says: "It’s a fantastic film asking some huge questions about our response when we see something that’s wrong."

The Viewfinder services are designed to enable churches to reach the crucial 18 to 30 demographic.

Each service comes complete with script, PowerPoint, suggested clips from a film and custom-made short videos for use in the service.

Viewfinder project manager Holly Price says, "Most people love talking about films, so this is a great way to get them thinking. It’s a natural way for churches to help my generation to see that God has something to say about the big issues in our lives, and to help us see some of the issues more clearly."

Viewfinder services are available by annual subscription of £10 at www.viewfinderservices.org
