'NCIS: New Orleans' season 3 spoilers: New agent stirs up friction in the team

NCIS: New Orleans CBS

"NCIS: New Orleans" will be seeing one new face added to the team with the addition of Vanessa Ferlito, who will be playing Tammy Gregorio. However, as reported by TV Line, her presence is not going to be welcomed by Team Pride as Gregorio causes friction and tension.

According to the report, Gregorio is a tough FBI Special Agent sent to investigate the team following the departure of Meredith Brody (Zoe McLellan). She is described as a by-the-book bureaucrat who has a different way of doing things and this will cause friction with the team, particularly with Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula).

The character is set to stand out because of the way she handles cases and the report reveals that the season 3 premiere will involve the NCIS team working with multiple federal agencies to deal with a sniper picking targets in a crowded festival. It is possible she will not agree with the way the team wants to find and take the sniper down due to their unconventional methods.

It is further stated that Gregorio has some secrets of her own and a mysterious past. It is likely her past will come to light before the end of Ferlito's time on the show, allowing the character to better connect with the rest of the "NCIS: New Orleans" team.

Movie News Guide also reveals that actress Wendie Malick will also appear as Sylvia Lund. Malick is known primarily for her roles in "Rush Hour" and "Hot in Cleveland." Lund is described as a "helicopter mom" who constantly hovers over her son Sebastian (Rob Kerkovich), who is a forensic scientist working with Pride's team.

Fans speculate that Lund may have some unique moments with Gregorio given the nature of their roles although this has yet to be proven.

"NCIS: New Orleans" season 3 will premiere this Sept. 20.
