MTV EMA 2014: Arianda Grande, Nicki Minaj, U2, Alicia Keys performances and more

The annual MTV EMA 2014 will be taking place on Sunday, Nov. 9, in Glasgow. 

This year's European Music Awards will be featuring Nicki Minaj as both a host and performer, along with performances from Enrique Iglesias, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, DJ Calvin Harris, Charli XCX, Canadian singer-songwriter Kiesza and UK rock duo Royal Blood. Rockband U2 will also be taking to the stage at the highly anticipated awards show.  

MTV will also be hosting a live red carpet event which will be available to view on its website.

MTV announced Nov. 8 that Alicia Keys will also be gracing the stage for a special performance on Sunday. Keys said, "I am crazy excited to perform on the global stage of the EMA, and for my song to be nominated for Best Song with a Message. 'We Are Here' is a 21st century peace movement that believes if we all stand together and join our voices we CAN create a kinder world for everyone."

During the awards show, British rock star Ozzy Osbourne will be honored with the Global Icon Award.

Prior to the event, a Kick Off Special will be held in Miami, hosted by Nick Cannon and Molly Tarlov. Nick Jonas is set to perform hit single "Jealous" at the Kick Off Speical, followed by performances from Fifth Harmony. Jake Miller will also be co-hosting and performing. 

Accordingto MTV, Glasgow was chosen for this this year's event because of its diverse music scene. 

The 2014 MTV EMA live pre-show from Miami will be airing at 7 p.m. ET. in the U.S. Theh EMAs wil be airing at 7.30 p.m. ET. Fans in the UK can watch it on MTV U.K. or Channel 5 at 9 p.m. local time.
