The refreshed version of the Moto X and the new Sony Xperia Z3 debuted at last week's IFA 2014 event.

The two Android smartphones battled to get the attention of the critics and consumers. The handsets were almost similar in specifications and both deserved to be the flagship phones of their respective companies. The smartphones are bound to arrive next month. Below is the comparison of the specs and features of the new Moto X (2014) and Sony Xperia Z3.

Screen Display

The two devices are like twins when it comes to their screen display. Both smartphones pack a 5.2-inch screen display with full HD (1080 x 1920) pixel resolution and 424 ppi.

Processor

Surprisingly, the two devices packed the quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801SoC clocked at 2.5GHz. The smartphones also come with Adreno 330 graphics chipset. The two handsets differ in RAM, however – the new generation of Moto X comes with 2GB of RAM, while the Sony Xperia Z3 packs 3GB of RAM.

Operating System

Both devices will run with the latest 4.4.4 version of the Android Kitkat operating system.

Internal Storage

The 2014 version of Moto X is equipped with 32GB of internal storage, while the Sony Xperia Z3 comes with 16GB and 32GB storage variants. The latter also comes with a microSD slot for up to 128GB.

Camera

The new Moto X handset comes with a 13 MP rear shooter with dual LED flash and 4K video capture. It is paired with 2 MP front-facing camera. The Sony Xperia Z3 handset, on the other hand, packs a 20.7 MP snapper at the back with 4K video capture, digital image stabilization, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR), and video sharing. It also comes with 2.2 MP selfie camera.

Battery

The features of the new Moto X is supported by a fair 2,300 mAh battery. However, Sony Xperia Z3 comes with 3,100 mAh battery capacity.
