Motorola just revealed the next-generation Moto E and it is now available in the United States. It boasts not only a package of fair specs and features, but also a $119 price tag.

The new Moto E, announced in 50 countries in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia, is a good option for first time smartphone users. It is a mid-range smartphone that is perfect for those looking for an entry-level handset with a friendly price and works like a high-end phone. Its price is similar to the value of its predecessors.

The new Moto E is available in 3G and 4G variants. Under the hood, the 3G model packs a quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. The 4G model is slightly more expensive and has better specs than the other. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz.

Both models boast a 4.5-inch screen with protective Gorilla Glass, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, 5-megapixel back camera, a VGA front-facing camera, and 2390 mAh battery. For connectivity, the smartphones have Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, AGPS and GLONASS.

The Moto E runs with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box, which gives both smartphone variants the latest Android features. This includes the Material Design user interface, Device Sharing features like Multiple Users, Guest User support, Screen pinning, New Battery Power Saver software, Improved notifications, Lock screen notifications control, Priority Mode, and Intelligent notifications ranking.

Motorola is now under the wings of Lenovo and it has been doing well. According to reports, the company sold more than 3 million devices in India alone.

The Moto E (2015) is available for purchase in Motorola's website and in various retailers. The 3G version costs $119, while the 4G-LTE enabled device is priced at $149. U.S. carriers are bound to announce if they will offer the new handset.
