'Mortal Kombat X' release date in 2014; New trailer launched

NetherRealm Studios are keeping things hush-hush with "Mortal Kombat X," but they are not keeping everything a secret. They do hand out some news or update about the game once in a while.

This time, it's news about a new character added to the official roster. Previous speculations are proven right, and the new and all-improved Kano enters the world of "Mortal Kombat X." Kano will look different, and that's because he has gotten older since "Mortal Kombat 9," but director Ed Boon made sure that with Kano's age comes new powers too.

According to Load the Game, Boon told them that the reason for the new found strength is Kano's improved cybernetic implants. The implants are pretty obvious in the Kano gameplay trailer. He looks like a complete cyborg now and of course, his signature eye implant is still there. One slight awesome change through, his eye implant changes color which is really awesome.

As mentioned, Kano will have new strength and powers. In "Mortal Kombat X," Kano has three variations of gameplay. The first is the Cutthroat variation where he pounds on his heart to make more powerful attacks.

The next variation is the Cybernetic where Kano uses his implants to their full advantage like making laser attacks and throwing grenades. This allows Kano to hit the enemy from a distance.

The last variation is Commando, and Kano does get all-Commando in this one. Kano becomes the ultimate brawler and can easily block those low and high attacks at close range.

Enough about Kano, the trailer also shows something new in "MKX"—the jungle stage. This is where mercenary battles from the new fighters takes place.

The complete list of confirmed characters include Sub-Zero, Scorpion, D'Vorah, Ferra and Torr, Cassie Cage, Kotal Kahn, Raiden and Kano. "Mortal Kombat X" is set for release in 2015 for PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
