Microsoft Surface Pro 4 release date before new Apple iPad Pro?

Will Microsoft Surface Pro 4 look exactly like the Surface Pro 3?

There are speculations that Apple will release the iPad Pro later this year, but Microsoft seems to be aiming to beat its competitor to the punch by releasing their next tablet-laptop hybrid sooner.

This month, The Inquisitr reported that Microsoft is planning to launch the new Surface Pro 4 before the Apple releases its highly awaited tablet. Based on speculations, Microsoft will be releasing the new device sometime in July, but it seems like the release date will come earlier since the prices for the current Surface Pro 3 line have already been reduced.

Currently, Microsoft is offering the Surface Pro 3 Bundle with a big $300 discount, which includes the slate plus four add-ons, namely a type cover, Microsoft Office 365, a sleeve, as well as an extended support plan. The latter is offered by the company to provide extended protection in case of hardware damage, and technical assistance covering two years from the time of purchase.

In a report posted by PC Pro, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will have two models. The first one is a 12-inch version while the other one has a 14-inch screen. Both models will reportedly have a 2160 x 1440 screen resolution as well as an Intel Core M Broadwill chip.

Phone Arena recently talked about what's under the hood of the new "laplet." Based on the report, the Surface Pro 4 will come with a Core M Broadwell silicon that is allegedly based on the bleeding edge of the 14nm build process that will be the main processor of the device. This will make the Surface Pro 4 one of the first powered tablet/ Ultrabook/ laptop/ PC to have no cooling fan.

The Surface Pro 4 may or may not offer 8 or 16 GB of RAM once it is released.
