'Married at First Sight' season 4 spoilers, updates: second honeymoon ahead of the big decision

Nick and Sonia of "Married at First Sight" season 4 FYI

"Married at First Sight" season 4 is nearing its end, and the day that the couples will finally be making their decision on whether they stay together or go their separate ways is drawing near. To help keep them together, Dr. Pepper will be sending the couples on a second honeymoon a week before the day they're supposed to decide.

The official synopsis for the episode, as per TV Guide, reveals that the second honeymoon is an attempt to re-ignite the spark of romance that may have been strongest back when the couples first met and got married. This will hopefully help them decide to keep their marriage instead of having a divorce when the show ends.

It should be noted that one of the three couples, Derek and Heather, had already opted to have a divorce early in the season, and while Heather showed some regret, they never got around to getting back together and giving their marriage a second try.

Nick and Sonia struggled through their marriage, particularly when Nick admitted that he was not as attracted to Sonia compared to when they first met. However, as noted by Movie News Guide, their visit to the in-laws and this upcoming second honeymoon may be what they need to get attached to each other again, both physically and emotionally.

They did see some progress when Nick asked Sonia to move back in with him, and they have been making progress, particularly when the in-laws got to the talk to Sonia regarding Nick's behavior.

Tom and Lillian have reportedly been the strongest couple of the trio, but they also experienced some issues. Lillian, in particular, appears to be too focused on her career and the future of their relationship, while Tom is a little too introverted and wants to focus on the present. In the end, Lillian is speculated to choose her career over Tom.

By going on a second honeymoon Tom and Lillian may be able to overcome these differences and stay together as a married couple.

"Married at First Sight" season 4 episode 14 is scheduled to air on Tuesday, Oct. 18 on FYI.
