The hit original historical drama television series, Marco Polo, seems unpredictable in Season 3. Its future is uncertain as Netflix seems to have dropped the idea of renewing it. Two speculations regarding the Lorenzo Richelmy starrer are making rounds. One, that  the franchise may possibly be cancelled due to alleged budget issues and crashing ratings and the other that the upcoming season will be filled with deaths.

Rumors have it that streaming giant Netflix roped in the title from its initial home network Starz for a good $90 million to have an epic production of ten episodes for a single run, from which a major chunk of the money has been spent on making costly costumes and prop settings. However the show's status is now in limbo.

Although perhaps the most expensive Netflix series, it gained satisfactory response in Season 1 with varying reviews from fans and critics, with some seemingly not in favour of how the stories were told. Assumptions are that it is being axed because it allegedly ended up with a drop in ratings. Season 2 made a complete disaster with ratings as well as the audience figures.

It is also rumoured that the upcoming 'Marco Polo Season 3' will be filled with retributions and mayhem, whilst characters continue to fight for supremacy.

Some viewers are still hoping that they will see what happens after new character Prester John attacks Kublai Khan's (Benedict Wong) camp in the finale of season 2 as it is rumoured that Kublai Khan and Prester John have an exciting face-off and iconic Mongol leader dies at hands of 'the mysterious warrior' who plays a big role in the upcoming Season 3

Meanwhile, rumours that Benedict Wong is leaving 'Marco Polo' have somehow cemented the belief of fans that indeed, 'Marco Polo' will be cancelled. However it is noteworthy, that this air of unease around Marco Polo is mostly speculation and nothing is confirmed yet.
