It has been long rumored that Apple will refresh its MacBook Pro line this year, giving the device an upgrade on its specs and features. Previous speculations have led people to believe that it would arrive last year, which obviously did not happen. Now, there are even more speculations trying to pinpoint exactly when the laptop would make an appearance.

According to Macworld, the laptop will arrive in June at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference. This is a perfect opportunity for the portable computer to gain attention, especially if the device will boast a big bump specs-wise.

Meanwhile, if the MacBook Pro will be announced with the MacBook Air, then it might happen on Feb. 24. This is based on a report from Taiwanese media source TechNews stating that Apple will hold a press event on the said date to unveil some products, including the new notebooks.

There is also a possibility that Apple will silently slip the notebooks in the market.  It would take everyone by surprise if the upgraded version is already available in the Apple Store.

With the conflicting predictions, it is clear that Apple's plans and is still unknown and anything can happen. But it's just not the date that causing a stir in the rumor mill because the specs is also a hot topic.

According to the grapevine, although the MacBook Pro will retain its form factor, its features would be upgraded. This includes the use of Intel's new Broadwell chipsets and USB Type-C port that will replace all ports in the laptop. These new features will allow the device to be fanless and lighter than its predecessor. The 13-inch MacBook Pro will retain 8 GB RAM, while the 15-inch version will stay with 16 GB.

Moreover, this year's MacBook Pro is purported to boast a crisp 4K screen display with touchscreen feature. Other possible inclusions in the laptop are TouchID fingerprint sensor and an improved TrackPad. Lastly, the device will be supported by a better battery capacity.

Until now, Apple has not revealed the official specs and features of the device, but consumers will surely learn more as its release date nears.
