The latest rumors suggest that LG Electronics is readying an entry-level smartphone, exclusive to Verizon prepaid subscribers.

According to GSM Arena, leaked renders that appeared online seemingly confirm another LG-Verizon partnership, this time for an entry-level unit dubbed the Optimus Zone 3. The industry follower credited perennial tipster Evan Blass.

Blass originally tweeted the render images, which highlighted some of the new smartphone's features. Based on the leaks, the LG Optimus Zone 3 will have 4G and LTE capability as well as on-screen Android navigation buttons. The industry follower observed that this was a novelty feature on LG and Verizon's part, since on-screen navigation buttons are more common in above-average and high-end flagships.

The report is unclear however, on the upcoming Optimus Zone 3's other specs and features, or if it will launch with the latest Android M onboard.

While the specs sheet for the upcoming entry-level device remains under wraps, Phone Arena guessed that the Optimus Zone 3 will more or less have the same specs as its predecessor, or if there will be upgrades, the new specs and features will not be too different.

When the previous Optimus Zone 2 was launched in 2014, it featured a 3.5-inch screen with 320 x 480 resolution, a Snapdragon 200 processor, and 512 GB of RAM. There was also 4 GB internal storage inside, 1,700-mAh battery, and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Considered an entry-level phone for Verizon subscribers, the Optimus Zone 2 is still in the current lineup of the mobile carrier, available for $29.99.

Meanwhile, although the specs and other details are unclear, MobiPicker estimated that the Optimus Zone 3 will launch as a 4-inch device, based on the images. In addition, since there are already render images of the device, the industry follower stated that Verizon may be readying its launch for 2016.
