"Left 4 Dead 3" may not be dead after all as the original developers of the first two games, Turtle Rock, have just launched a brand new DLC campaign for the first "Left 4 Dead" game. Titled "Dam It," this DLC merges two unfinished DLC packs as well as two standalone survival maps that were never released despite being done.

According to the official site, the DLC combines "Dead Air" and "Blood Harvest" into a single DLC expansion. However, because they are incomplete projects, code changes are not included. This means several issues, such as a bridge not collapsing after an explosion or issues with the zombie spawns, are going to be prevalent when players give the DLC a try.

It should also be noted that the dam spawn room does not contain health kits or weapons, players moving too quickly in the burning forest section right after they have spawned can suffer from burn damage, and the elevators can be used but they will be invisible and lack any type of wall collision.

"Just finished putting the 'Dam' campaign that we streamed a while back into a 'L4D' addon. It's gray box, and some code features are missing but it's playable from beginning to end. It also includes two standalone survival maps that never shipped," explained Turtle Rock's Chris Ashton.

PC Gamer also confirms that players that want to give the DLC a try don't need to pay for anything. The only requirements are the base game and the necessary files that are downloadable from the main website. The DLC can be installed manually by placing the files in the add-on folder or automatically by running the executable file.

With the renewed interest in the franchise, it has sparked rumors that Turtle Rock and Valve may be moving forward with "Left 4 Dead 3." The game may feature VR compatibility and launch sometime in 2017 or 2018, but neither company has made any confirmation.
