LeBron James NBA news: Will he join Team USA in 2016?

Will LeBron James get another tour of duty with Team USA in 2016?

Well all that remains to be seen. Someone from the camp of LeBron James reveals that the Cleveland Cavaliers star will be around when USA Basketball holds camp this coming August 11 to 13 in Las Vegas.

This is however not the first time hearing that James will be at the minicamp which was made a prerequisite for invited NBA players who are interested in being part of the team being prepped for the 2016 Olympic Games which will be held in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

Other players who are expected to be around but not play include James' teammate Kevin Love, Kevin Durant of the OKC Thunder and Paul George of the Indiana Pacers.

James is however not expected to be around for the three-day camp since it will be in conflict with a family event for the Cavs star player.

This has something to do with LeBron James' Family Foundation annual Family Reunion event, something that had been set even before USA Basketball announced camp according to a report from USA Today.

So despite his presence at camp, it doesn't follow that James will be playing for Team USA next year. Despite belief that James wants another tour of duty as well as his love for the game, seeing James don the USA Basketball uniform for now is not fully guaranteed.

James has already proven what his presence to Team USA could bring. He has proven that twice already.

He did it in 2008 when the USA bagged the gold in Beijing and once more in 2012 when he was part of the contingent to the 2012 games in London.

For now, it may be touch-and-go and on whether James will be playing for Team USA next year could very well be announced after the 2015-16 NBA wars.
